Hi Everyone,

I am looking to make a trip to CO for some ice climbing. I currently can't afford it. If I could find someone who might also be interested in climbing ice for a few days between the 28th of Dec and the 9th of January in or around Ouray and might have a cheap options for lodging I could probably swing it. I am in the PNW and I have a feeling that we aren't going to get a whole lot of ice this winter and need to get my fix in for the season. I can lead WI3/WI4. Would be able to do any ski mountaineering also, but would rather just get some ice.

There is free camping up the road a little ways from the ice park in a forest service campground. It is balls cold and you go to bed early, but doable. Stock up on food before getting to Ouray, the grocery store there is small and expensive.

hyalite is a much shorter drive and you can camp at the parking lot but your gonna freeze your dick off (true for winter camping anywhere in the rockies). Bring a warm body to spoon with.
