Other ways to do the TFT

Does anyone have experience doing the Torment-Forbidden traverse via less-standard routes? I'm mainly talking about the first half. Due to the amount of tat littering Mt Torment and the first part of the ridge line I'm assuming so.

We climbed the S Ridge of Torment which we thought to be highly disappointing(mostly loose 4th class) and followed the "standard traverse" from there.

Is there a more quality route up Mt Torment?
Has anyone completed the traverse by staying more or less on the ridge-line the whole way?
Also, do any of the towers on the first half of the traverse before the sidewalk have names?
