"The route".
Add Photo Printer View
Description A good scramble, or perhaps lead. There are only a few moves of note on the route, but it is a pleasant jaunt, and the view from up on the summit is amazing. Climb up a mostly wide crack which borders the main arete (NW corner of rock) for most of its length. I have never placed gear on this route, but it seems it would take a few pieces, particularly wider stuff.
Location This route is the visible crack seen from the canyon's main trail when up at higher elevations or from over on the descent from the Devil's Thumb. A wide crack climbs up and towards the summit from the main arete on this rock.
Protection A light rack with large pieces, if desired.

| Fun climb. Worth a lap, if you hiked all the way up here for the Devil's Thumb. To get down scramble North on the East face till you find a tree that helps you step down the last steep section. |
