| After spending some time poking through the database for Arizona's Cochise Stronghold I thought I'd see if anyone else would be in favor of splitting the database into two distinct areas. I've found there are crags distinctly accessed from the west (via Hwy 80, middlemarch road, and FS 687) and other crags distinctly accessed from the East. Following is a list of the currently listed areas accessed from the WEST: Westworld Dome The Tombstone Sheepshead Area Whale Dome Paleface Slab Ghost Dome EDIT: Squaretop goes here! Squaretop [Area with sub-areas around the "Isle of Ewe" access] Further, I've found that the "Isle of Ewe" crags could be combined into one sub category within the sub category that is the west side. This sub category would include: Sweet Rock Naiche's Nest Isle of Ewe Behind Sweet Rock I'm not sure if the forum is the best place to resolve this situation, so if anyone knows of a better way to contact a site administrator or the original poster of Cochise to perform this reorganization please shout out! Please chime in and let me know if you like the database the way it is or if you're in favor of these alterations. I'm planning a trip to the area for a week during early March, and I have some more questions but I figured I'd start with this... Thank you for your civil, constructive feedback. -Dylan Weldin | FLAG |

| "Cochise Dome can be approached from the east or west. General consensus is that the east approach is slightly shorter, but steeper. The west approach is more gentle and can be a pleasant hike, though it is a bit longer." ...So, east or west? Also, Squaretop is nowhere near Isle of Ewe. Otherwise, this makes sense. | FLAG |

| Good call on squaretop. It should be in the other category and not in the Isle of Ewe sub-category. And as I have never been to Cochise, I am going to leave the deliberation of East or West up to those who HAVE done the approach. Sometimes I have difficulty inserting links into the right place. When you insert them it automatically sends them to the bottom of the post. | FLAG |

| I don't see a sub-sub-area for Isle of Ewe. | FLAG |

| I could certainly see an East/West split. I have not spent a ton of time down there, but it certainly seemed like you would pick one side or the other for short trips. If we can agree on which crags go where, and if someone where willing to add the descriptions for the new pages, I don't see why not. | FLAG |

| Seems fine to me. | FLAG |

| East and west are how it has been split for a long time. That seems like a good way to split it. | FLAG |

| I concur, who's up for authoring the East/West pages?? | FLAG |

| Hey Geir, would you mind doing both East and West descriptions? It would be nice to keep them consistent. | FLAG |

| So I sorted it out this morning. Geir, I just reassigned you both pages, and please let me know if you don't want both. If and area could be accessed from both sides (Rockfellow Dome), then I put it on the West side, because the access is a little more off the grid, and the camping is better. Looks like there are some other changes that need to be made, but I'll look into that later. Thanks guys. | FLAG |

| I would put the domes in the section that they are most commonly accessed from. The Rockfellows are usually accessed from the east. | FLAG |

| I agree Eric. Thanks JJ, I am happy to do both. Will start work on them soon. | FLAG |

| Perhaps a third Central section should be added for domes that can be accessed from both sides? Otherwise I would put The Rockfellow Group and Cochise Dome on the East Side. Others have climbed there much more than I have however. | FLAG |

| Again, I haven't visited yet, but the bulk of the trip reports I've looked into regarding Rockfellow/ Cochise Domes seen to have started from the East access. Thanks again to everyone for helping make MP a more user-friendly place, and especially to Geir for all his google map kmz-ing, topo writing, route describing, commenting, and developing of the area To geir specifically: could you shoot me a link that describes how to make similar .kml/.kmz files that could be created to share parking/ approach/ crag information at other crags back here in Colorado? I'd love to beef up some of my city's information. -Thanks I am thoroughly anticipating our spring break trip to the area! | FLAG |

| Sounds good. I'll switch Rockfellow and Cochise Dome to the East side. | FLAG |

| I've approached the Rockfellows from the West every time. Kinda a pet peave of mine though: layers of clicking to find an area (often resulting in dead-ends) when just having a list is pretty dang easy. Oh well, can't win em all. | FLAG |

| The east side is actually closer to Tucson, time-wise, and the road is sedan-friendly. So most people probably do come in from the east. | FLAG |

| Josh, Cochise has been split this way forever.... Sorry our pet peeves seem to be polar opposites. I don't seem to mind a few extra clicks to get where I am going if I know I will find what I am looking for. Not that this is really the case for Cochise at all. | FLAG |

| Thanks for taking care of this! I feel like this organization will help people make informed decisions on whether to visit the East or the West side depending on the duration of their trips, their climbing ability, whether they are looking for trad vs. sport, what style of camping they'll be doing, etc. On a side note, let's say I'm down at the West side for a week in early March (some classics closed for the birds)... what's not to be missed? From what I've gathered: -Warpaint -Moby Dick -Coati Corner -A day @ Rad and Trad rocks -Cragaholic's Dream -Absinthe of Mallet -Anything else on Sheepshead? What am I missing? Also, I've noticed a slab climbing theme with this entire destination... Other than "Coati Corner" and "Cragaholic's Dream" what are your favorite Cochise cracks? Thanks in advance for any suggestions! | FLAG |

Thanks in advance for any suggestions! I thought Peacemaker on Sheepshead was really cool, but I haven't done Absinthe. My friend told me that the unknown 10+ left of Ewephoria had some of the best crack climbing he's ever done and said it blew Absinthe out of the water. | FLAG |
