BETA PHOTO: Orangutan Buttress. A new line of bolts went up in...
Add Photo Printer View
Description From the pitch 1 belay from any lower variation of Orangutan, combine finesse and brute force to tackle the roof immediately off the deck - don't kick your ledge partners in the helmet - then haul over the bulge up the steep short second pitch to the top. If you're lucky you'll surprise a hiker around Cedar Overlook.
Location The only bolted line on the top of Orangutan Buttress.
Protection A line of 4(?) bolts. An alpine draw or extra long quickdraw works well for the first bolt off the pitch 1 belay, just mind that your gate's not on the roof edge. PG, standard rack as a trad line. A pair of Stover chains at the top to anchor/rappel/belay.
