In past years, didn't someone over on rc.com write a blog about OR and the cool new gear he saw??? I haven't seen a link to said blog for the recent show? Did I miss it? Did the manufacturers get tired of spending time with him? Anyone know the scoop?

UtahOutside has a few pages up with some stuff at OR this year, and SplitterChoss has a few interesting things up on their site that are relevant to my interest.

First - the RRG guidebook in an iPhone format from Wolverine, this is really cool. It helps that Ray has kept the guidebook in electronic format (see redriverclimbing.com/) for a while and I'm sure it was an easy conversion to get it to an iPhone app. I would probably buy a Boulder Canyon version of this.

Second - BD Offset Stoppers ('nuff said)

when they were shopping them around for a distributor them for them, they were turned down mostly because if they went that route, they would be somewhere around $150 retail- this is really the only viable option to bring them to market.

Not surprising, John. It's quite the interesting design, but comes with an extremely high manufacturing cost. Frankly I'm surprised they've gotten it down far enough to hit a $90 price point.
