Description Suggest change

Situated between Cedar City and Kanarrville on the East side of the valley up in the mountains is a small canyon that has a little rock in it. Only 2 routes exist here that I am aware of.

I don't know what the technical name for this area is. There are old tramway towers going up the north ridge, easily spotted. The cable for the tram is lying across a low angle slab up higher. The road links up to Kolob Reservoir and/or Cedar Mountain if you keep driving. Might be a burly dive in snow or rain.

The rock looks like sandstone and some of it feels like sandstone, but it has a limestone quality to it. It's weird, but in a good way. Some of it is highly textured. The rock isn't very tall but there looks to be some nice looking aretes that need bolting. Some of the crack lines look chossy. However, lots of potential waiting for the motivated.

Getting There Suggest change

Take Main Street out of Cedar heading South, before getting on the freeway turn left on Old HWY 191. Drive 2.3 miles and take another left and head past the dirt track. Cruise graded dirt for 4.6 miles and take another left (there is an earlier left at 3.8 miles that leads to the same place). Go up a somewhat steep graded dirt road for 1.5 miles. The rock will be mostly on your left with the exception of the KB Express Pinnacle which is on the right.

Your mileage may vary.
