Hey!

I'm in NYC for the next couple of days and would like to go Bouldering in Central Park.
Looking for a partner.

I have my shoes and chalk, just missing a pad and a spotter.

Anybody?

Not being a jerk about it (I hope), but there aren't many places in the park where you need a pad. Or even a spotter.

Even Cat Rock has a decent landing below all the main face problems.

Roadside Boulder, yeah, but that's sick business.

Worthless, it's nice to have a small pad and spotter for the vertical problems over the tilted ground boulder.

But Rat, Chess and Ramble rocks are very mellow for solo bouldering.

But it's always great to have a partner -- more fun and usually more motivation.

If you don't already have Gaz Leah's NYC guide you can always bring your smartphone and use A Climber's Guide to Popular Manhattan Boulder Problems. I've finally started updating it. More to come in the months ahead.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
