Not your typical resole question

Hey all, I have a pair of sportive muira's (the velcro version). While I love everything about the shoe, I wish they had rubber on the toe cap.

Is there anyway to add rubber to the toe cap with a do-it-yourself type kit like 5.10 makes?

Or when I send them in to get resoled next can I have them (rock and resole) add rubber to the toe if I request that? is that possible?

They will add rubber to the toe cap but they claim to have trouble getting rubber to adhere to leather. The solution they have come up with works fine but is not pretty.
