It is sad what we will do for a dollar. Rape the hills and murder life. What a sorrowful legacy this man leaves behind.

So... since the injunction is invalid does that mean they'll be there mining tomorrow? What people will do for a buck amazes me. Its a crying shame.

how about somebody post a synopsis of the heraldextra article? I don't need to create yet another account at yet another site just to check out the article....

There are notices posted at Rock Canyon today indicating that an agent acting on behalf of Richard Davis has applied for a conditional use permit to quarry rock from Rock Canyon.

The notices indicate that there will be an informational meeting for residents of the surrounding Provo neighborhoods at 8am on Saturday, March 28 in Rock Canyon Park.

Hey, if anyone is going to that meeting, could you please post and let everyone know what is said? Thanks.

Thanks for posting that, Perin. At this point it looks like this guy is fighting a losing battle and hopefully he will back off and sell to someone who is interested in conserving the land eventually. I guess we'll see. It's niec to see that there is some opposition to this crap, though.

A little bit of editorial sarcasm on the subject. On the same page, the word of the day was "fool" (for April Fool's Day). One of the definitions read, "Someone who thinks excavating Rock Canyon is a good idea."

Slumping postcard sales would be MORE than offset by these benefits to the citizens of Happy Valley:

Thanks, Matt. I saw your posting just in time to book it out of a study group and catch an hour of the meeting. I think the climbing community was well represented.

Hangin' in Maple.

During the April 2nd meeting, did anyone write down what city code number we are to reference when addressing the Provo City planning commission with our remarks and concerns? If so, please post it.
