Description Suggest change

There are two ridges that run down from the Sandias and terminate near the parking area. The approach to The Particularly Nice One goes between these ridges.

The ridge has many steps and boulders around each step. There are SW, W and NW aspects to the ridge so you can move around to possibly find shelter from the elements though at times it will be impossible.

Most of the problems seem to be collected around the flat areas of the "steps" and some have very good rock quality and others are quite grainy. There are lots of foothills knobs on many of the boulders and this can lead to some fun climbing.

Getting There Suggest change

From the parking follow the main trail as it heads east then north along a fence line. Shortly after the trail starts north look for trails that head up the ridge to the east. There is one trail that is quite a bit better than the others that is slightly south of the top of the ridge itself, though it ends up being south of many of the problems as well.
