Description Suggest change

A great place to learn to ice climb... The north end offers easy access top roping and some moderate leads with fat ice to fill with screws... Its a pretty wide flow and can and will host MANY parties at once... Depending on what you are looking for you can climb pretty easy routes that barely make the grade 3 and you can find steeper lines that might barely break you in to grade 4... most of the climbing however is solid WI3 to 3+...

The only downside to this area is that it sees LOTS of traffic and gets really beaten out if conditions aren't good for rebuilding... I guess the up side to that is that you can sometimes climb here with out having to swing your tools at all, just hooking where others have bashed away...

This is the nice short steep section all the way right at cathedral...Hike the road just passed the gate and look up to the left you will see a long slab (North End Slab) and to its right the steep normally fat ice of the north end...

Protection Suggest change

Screws or a top rope from solid trees above...
