2. The south end of the First Corridor is in danger of collapsing at the base of Sophie’s Choice. A dam of rocks and soil has been built to divert water away from the eroding soil underneath these huge boulders. Please help keep this system in place until a more permanent solution is implemented.
Description
As the name implies North Dallas 40 lies on the north side of the largest formation at Texas Canyon, the Elephant Head, between the Lower East Side and the Pangea Wall. This unique area is home to a handful of routes and contains some of the chossiest and most bird guano encrusted rock, as well as some of the best conglomerate at Texas Canyon. The wall is perhaps twenty yards wide and sixty feet high. The North Dallas 40 is the wall upon which the Elephant's Ear, the eighty foot high tower, rests to form the imposing overhang on this north face. There is a 15 ft tall oak tree at the wall's west end.
