So my job is giving me the option to relocate to Keene NH in the south of the state. Does anyone know any local climbing spots around Keene. Anyone have the beta for living in Keene?

Thanks

I grew up about 30 minutes north of Keene, and there are definitely climbing spots around there.

I didn't really get into climbing until I moved away from home, but you should check out these threads for a start:

mountainproject.com/v/easte…

neclimbs.com/smf_bbs/index.…

Some overlapping info, and not much in the way of details, but it's something. I bet you can track down a few folks willing to show you around through this site or neclimbs.com.

Closest Quality: Hewes Hill a.k.a Swanzey
Approx 1.15 hr away and very good: Farley - Rose Ledge - Mormon Hollow - More info here: westernmacc.com

Enjoy!

Rose is a lot closer than an hour. I grew up in Keene and while there has to be some more stuff around I can't say I know of much. There are some bridges with climbing on them, Rose Ledge as mentioned, Farley which has some interesting stuff and of course Swanzey which is by far the closest. They are all shortish granite crags.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
