Hey guys, I'm headed up to North Conway next weekend for a (hopefully gnarly after this storm) presi traverse. Looking for a cheap place to crash Friday night. Any suggestions?

A little outside of N. Conway, but a great place to stay for $23 / night.

There's a cheap motel called the Clipper Inn or something like that. We've talked our way to under $50/night for two climbers.

Don't know if it's still open during winter, but Blackberry Crossing CG, along the Kanc used to be open in winter for foot traffic. We used to park at the gate. Can't get much cheaper.

Only 20 bucks a night. and 15 minutes NoCo.

Only downside is, no shower, but who showers anyway?

You could just stay at the Pinkham visitor's center, don't they rent beds?

My experience is that Pinkham Notch is never as cheap as I remember.

Pinkham is not cheap, at all. But factor in the large meals--buffet breakfast!--and what with getting up an hour or so later and avoiding the early drive, it may be a good choice after all.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
