Planning on taking my niece to womens climb Friday pm at East Falls gym, but just noticed Go Vertical also.

Do people prefer one gym over the other, anybody interested in climbing with NH climber - 55 yrs old, female, climbs 10b-11a sometimes harder on Thu or Fri 12/19 or 12/20?

As a recent transplant to the Philly area from Vermont, I'd say, if you are looking to do routes, the best bang for your buck is Go Vertical. 50+ foot walls, a massive arch to lead climb out, and various other, fun, features to climb. All of the best climbing at Go Vertical, IMO, is on the lead walls, so bring your rope if that's what you plan/wish to do. There is bouldering there, but it pales greatly in comparison to the sheer number of routes.

East Falls is a great place to go for bouldering, as that is what 90% of the terrain there is. Great topout, highball, and any other kind of bouldering you can imagine.

I have to agree with Chris. I love EF, and their routes are set well, but they're only about 20-22 foot walls. The boulders almost go that high. If you're looking to boulder, then EF is top notch. But Go Vertical is probably a much better gym for ropes (I've never been, but I'm a frequent climber at EF).

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
