Most climbers in southern NH know of the Londonderry Boulder which sits on the side of a busy road (rt 28) that runs From the Manchester sprawl of South Willow St to the near by town of Londonderry...
The area is home to one large boulder that is seen from the road and two smaller ones hidden right behind the big one in the trees... The problems here are of nice quality on solid granite... Worth a stop before or after work if you need a quick fix...
I've climbed many of the problems here but don't know many of the names or grades... If you do know this spot well please post some good descriptions for the locals and visitors to sink their teeth in to... The majority of the lines are moderate but there are a few hard ones too...
Getting There
From route 293 get off at the south willow st exit toward the mall drive south on route 28 past the mall... Stay on route 28 for a few miles and you will see the boulder on the right hand side of the road... Cant miss it... its just under a mile in to the town of londonderry so look for the sign...
remember, it is a busy road so park responsably...
I climbed on this boulder a lot while in high school in the late 80's. Other climbers included Mack Johnson and Rich Searle plus lots more, we never had any names for the problems then. It's a great couple of boulders though, wish I had it in my yard.
