New Wave Boulder Rock Climbing
BETA PHOTO: New Wave Boulder.
This is a striking boulder that looks like a breaking wave. The main face (see photo) has several easy problems that are fun for the grade. The overhanging nature of the main face makes for cool topouts especially at the grade.
There may be other problems on a smaller overhanging face to the left of the main face.
Take the right at the first intersection and cross the paved area near the pond, then head up a hill and take the next right. The path wends around away from the pond and toward Rte 128, and this boulder should be visible on the right of the trail. It's maybe 10 minutes from the car and 15-20 feet from the trail.

This climbs the curved, fat, left arete of the obvious, back face. Start down low and work your way up the tallest point of the boulder before topping out. Key holds make this pretty easy but really fun at the grade. A great warm up. The crux may be the start. ...[more] Browse More Classics in MA

Let me know if this boulder already has a page. It's fairly obvious, so I reckon it's been climbed before (though it need scrubbing).
I did 4 problems on the main face and will add them if they aren't already on the site.

Please add those problems. I posted some problems up on the big boulder about 250 feet away from the New Wave Boulder. They are called the Beehive Boulders just for reference.

Forgot how fun the problems on this boulder are. Really great intro bouldering. They feel full value. Toping-out is really smooth as there are big jugs at the top and over the lip.
