Thanks to 55 volunteers we knocked out a sustainable climbing access trail to the Canal Zone in Clear Creek Canyon on Saturday. Thank you to everyone that was involved in this effort. Thanks also to the Jefferson County Open Space Trail Crew, Boulder Climbing Community (BCC), and The American Alpine Club (AAC) for their support on this project.

What's the trail look like down from the parking lot? Nice work in other spots!

Thanks for organizing, Mike! We had fun playing in the mud/building the trail.

Hey Stich,

That's a whole other can of worms. Property ownership falls to CDOT and Church Ditch. We would like to improve that access, but it will take some more time to work with those entities.

On the other hand, it's a lovely walk from Lions Park in Golden to the Canal Zone, no gully scramble required.

Thanks to MIke Morin, a host of volunteers, and JCOS for the most excellent new trail into the Canal Zone! Great work, many thanks.
Cheers
