Old Rag Mountain in Shenandoah National Park. Pretty much all trad climbing which I haven't done yet. I have hiked it many times and its good quality granite.
Great Falls along the Potomac river will also be close to you. No sport routes so its all trad and top rope.
I wouldn't call it much of a destination but check out Elizabeth Furnice here on MP. This is where I climb most since it has sport routes. Talking headwall is along the road that runs along a small river. Mostly shaded so it stays pretty cool on hotter days. Most climbs top out just over a roof that runs along the cliff. Getting to Buzzard Rocks requires a 4 mile hike and the bolted routes have no anchors at the top. All of it is exposed slab that gets a lot of sun in the afternoon to evening. Buzzard is all slab climbing. Also a nice large camp site about a mile down trail from the crag (not established, just a good place to camp).
Sorry, should have said 4 miles round trip. Which is what my GPS said hiking it the first time as a loop. Probably about 1.5 or so miles in to the rock.
If you like trad and you're willing to tack an extra hour onto your trip then Seneca Rocks has some very nice multi pitch climbing in pretty much all grades.
