I keep hearing about the new Pway guide book, but does anyone know what it's actually called, who wrote it and or where I can get a copy? It's kind of a weird, long shaped book, all pictures and uses ski trail ratings instead of grades. Supposed to be way more comprehensive than the New England Bouldering guide. Thanks!

Does this book have any of the newer bouldering areas that are not covered in the new england bouldering book?

It's a great guide. There are more climbs shown than here on mp. My only problem with the book is that it doesn't show ratings on the boulders with the V scale but with easy-moderate-difficult.

The book has EVERYTHING. There are over 1000 routes or something like that. Bryce's guide has more lines in areas you've never heard of than all the lines you know about. P-Way has a lot of rock and this guide is very comprehensive. He also has updated it as new lines have gone in.

In looking at the preview of the book it looks awesome. Any write up from the author for the reason to go with the ski trail dificulty ratings? [I'm assuming it was due to the notion that many climbs' grades are sand bagged or inflated in the author's opinion?]

To answer some questions, no there are no other areas covered in the guide other than Pway. But Bryce has done a great job with the guide. It covers all the boulder problems and routes at Pway, including lots of obscure areas. (Bryce is a very active member of MP. His handle is BDalhaus) I agree that the rating thing is a little annoying, but it's pretty easy to figure out the grade range that each symbol is supposed to represent. It's basically v0-v2 for the green circle, v3-v5 for the blue square, v6-v8 for the black diamond and the double black diamond represents v9 and above. As a guidebook author myself, I can tell you that grades are one of the most difficult parts of writing a book. If I could, I would put a slash grade or plus/minus symbols on almost every problem because trying to come up with a concrete grade on your own or in a small group of friends is very difficult. The cool thing is that it seems that Bryce basically prints these on demand, so he updates problem info, grades and quality ratings all the time based on the input of sites like MP. But, I'm sure he'd be happy to answer any questions you might have!
