DescriptionThe New Millennium Wall is a relatively short, moderately steep wall with a height of about 30 feet. It is West facing with a nice clearing in the trees, allowing for good direct sunlight in the afternoons. The rock is diorite like the rest of Mount Erie, and it is well consolidated. Most routes here require a combination of bolts and traditional gear for protection. Most routes have bolted anchors at the top. There is a nice fallen tree at the base, which makes for a good belay seat. Due to ease of access there are occasionally multiple top ropes hanging on the wall. The wall has mostly face climbing in the 5.6 to 5.9 range. Getting ThereTo get to the new millennium wall, park in the pullout on the east side of Hart Lake Road,1/8 mile north of the Lake Erie Grocery. From the pullout, follow the access road behind the gate uphill to the north. Follow this road about 4-5 minutes through a wide spot until a trail leaves on the right hand side heading up towards the cliffs. Follow this trail uphill for a few minutes longer, until it T’s into trail 247. The New Millennium Wall is directly across the intersecting trail (247). Approach the cliff on its right hand side.
