I have worked many diffrent trades, cooking, carperter, auido engineering, and most recently in education. Any comments or suggestions would be great. Climbing everyday has been nice but it is time to get a job. I live in summerlin if that make a diffrence to suggestions.

i'd avoid the ccsd unless you have a stomach for beauracracy... consider finding a job as a bartender, server, bouncer: these are the jobs that still hire regularly. if you don't have experience just lie and figure it out on the job... if you still have the constitution for education consider becoming a substitute teacher or bus driver, each has some paperwork involved so get a head start.

good luck!

Broke? Hungry? Smelly? No Job? Dirtbaggin?

Desperate?

... Well, there's only one solution.

Gay Porn! Only in Sin City. I hear Krave is a good place to start.

Cheers!

Rob,

How much do they pay you an hour? I can see your line of work is not for everyone.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Slacker,

Just giving ya a hard time. I'm also in the Summerlin area. Vegas has one of the highest percentages of unemployment at this time, but here are some places I'd check out.

First place I'd look as a climber in the area is REI. Located at Ft. Apache/Charleston in Boca Park. Full time employees reveive full benefits as well as discounts on gear.

Other places i'd check out is whole foods also off of Ft. Apache/Charleston. Costco (Charleston/MLK). Both have full benefits for full time employees.

Like Jon stated above. Restaurants/Hotels seem to be always hiring. The hotels on the strip are all part of the union, so they also provide full benefits.

If you're looking for a career i'd suggest the medical field. Most jobs are 12 hours x 3 days/week which gives you the flexibility to travel/climb as much as you please.

Good luck to you!

Killis,
I've enjoyed your posts over the years as a pot-stirrer and general malcontent, but now I must commend your choice of avatar. I believe this is the second in what I hope to be a long line of stunning representations of chicks I'd like to give flowers to.
Cheers, and keep up the good work,
matt

I was wondering the same thing. My girlfriend and I just got here on a climbing trip and we both love it. We are seriously considering moving here. Nice to hear that the economy is improving. The strippers must be psyched!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
