Morning, Mt. Project-ers,
Awesome news from us here at The American Alpine Club: We just closed a deal for 40 acres of land within walking distance of climbing at the New River Gorge! On the horizon is a campground, modeled after the AAC’s Grand Teton Climbers’ Ranch. More details here:

This would kick ass as long as something like a 10pm noise curfew is enforced. And drum circle jerkers are shot for mindlessly filling the woods with more sounds of civilization.

That's great.

Hope AAC has also thought about parking, traffic, and squatting "tourists." Being very popular and easily accessible, the area can get congested at times.

I'm a skeptic. Those areas are already highly congested and full of gumbies dropping TRs on EVERYTHING! Not to mention the fucking sport rappellers. Where is everyone going to park?

10-20$/night? For camping? I'll stick with Roger.

When I go down with my girl, we go to Chestnut. When I'm with my bro-brahs, I go to Roger's.

For $10-$20 per night, I too will stick with Chestnut or Rogers.

And I even plan on joining the AAC this year.

I'm pretty sure you're gonna see a lot of people choosing Roger's or even the insane owner at Chestnut. Of all the places the AAC could have put a campsite and they choose Fayetteville? Hopefully I never see it.

Just as soon as the announced-years-ago AAC campground at the Gunks gets built, right?

Well I think it's a good idea. I'd rather the AAC spend resources on things like this that have the potential to benefit all climbers than sponsoring pre-Madonnas to climb far-away mountains.

With my light pockets I won't be headed there either, but I definitely think it will have a market.

Please tell me you did that on purpose. Either way I got a good laugh though.
