Need a rec on a good place for first-time climber near Tahoe City

I'm taking a friend who is visiting Tahoe City climbing, and he has never climbed before. I was planning on taking him to Donner Summit, but I'm wondering if someone more familiar with the Tahoe City area than I am could offer some other options. I'm also considering Ninety-Foot Wall at Eagle Creek canyon. But closer to Tahoe would be nice.

Just looking for some TR in the 5.5-5.7 range, without a long walk in. Time is, unfortunately, limited.

Much thanks in advance!

Did you consider Dinosaur rock?

Its in that canyon right behind the Bodean casino costco in Carson city. (you can look at the topo in the falcon guide for tahoe.

Otherwise, 90 foot fall and donner summit (specifically school house rock, green phantom wall) are your best bets for easy climbing

Donner for sure and seconded specifically on School House Rock and Green Phantom. Hard to beat the approaches and route variety.

Thanks for responding, guys. We ended up at 90 Foot Wall and the newbies (and me, too) had a great time.
