Just a community heads up, something myself and experienced partners have never really given thought to before came up the other day.
I took a big slab fall, around forty feet, and although I was a bit bloodied, I didn't hit my head, and was feeling pretty good, and went on to lead the next two pitches. It was only when untying to rap that I noticed that during the course of the fall the sheath, and some of the core of my rope had worn through. While it *might* have held another fall, it's certainly not a risk I'd like to take again.
TLDR; Check your system after a big fall.
