| I've climbing only two places in Italy: Arco and the Dolomites. I think both places are great, though I was in Arco 20 yrs. ago and imagine that it must have gotten kind of polished, though how many well established limestone areas aren't. I think it really depends on what you want to do. Arco is great for sport climbing, with some longer routes up to 10 pitches. Great swimming and windsurfing on nearby Lago di Garda. Some towns on the lake, such as Limone, as awesome places to hang. We stayed at Corvara in the Dolomites, between Garda and Sella Passes. Lots of good climbing, both trad and sport, though it's primarily a trad area. Lots of good via ferrata and biking too. Food has more northern influences, so it's not nearly as good as elsewhere in Italy. It's my understanding that place like Cortina d'Ampezzo have a better mix of sport and trad, though the town is way more touristy and expensive. Finale is supposed to be nice as well. I've only stayed in the town, Finale Ligure, for some relaxing and sunbathing on the Mediteranean. A good spot to enjoy the coast and some climbing, though you'll need to rent a car. You will in the Dolomites as well. There is some public transport, but it's way too limited to get you to the climbs at a reasonable hour. Have fun. | FLAG |

| In my opinion this is a nice thread... many of our wives do not spend as much time out with us iin the mountains as we might like. They get left out a bit... and this is the wife appreciation thread. In other news, there is a cragging area near Valencia that is really cool and off the beaten path. I can't remember the name. Also, there is a sport area in Cortina that is hard to find in books. Its supposedly very steep and allows for a fair bit of climbing in the rain... which is common. | FLAG |

I dont believe you.... the second pic is not the most flattering, certainly not compared to the 1st and 3rd, but I think that any woman who is in shape, and doing what she is passionate about is very attractive. | FLAG |

| General observation... Have you ever noticed how easy it is as an adult to pick the people who, as kids, were picked on and sadly learned that being an ass was the easiest way to get attention? You dont even have to meet them to know who they are. s.price, you should contact Chris Kalous on here.... The SAG, as he is affectionately known, went to Sicily last year and is raving about it. He could tell you where and when. It sounds like a great place to go to get some Italy without all the tourists and with an easier toll on the wallet. | FLAG |

| Finale Ligure. Cool climbing for ever, and crystal clear Italian Riviera beaches where your wife can sport all her hotness on rest days (clothes are optional). Was there last May. Gorgeous. Plenty of sport routes, and I recall 5 fun pitches with a Euro, even though we never spoke the same language. Exchanging smiles and gesticulating get's one far...Oh-Kahyee!! Stay at the Hotel Norris. As in Chuck. If he went to Finale, he'd stay there. It's that bad-ass. | FLAG |

| I don't know, dorseyec. Years ago when I worked with business lobbyists a few of them around the office were comparing pictures of their wives in swim suits and other skanty outfits. This girl in the office casually observed this and threw a disgusting look at them. There must have been a vibe she didn't like I guess. Then she stomped off saying, "I know you guys!" I was just 18 so it really didn't register with me. But there you are. | FLAG |

| Every now and then I pass my wife in the house and smack her in the butt. As long as I don't do it too hard, she's psyched that I'm still looking, esp after 13 years. And why wouldn't I? She's my age but mistaken for being in her 20's frequently and is, well, pretty good lookin' I wouldn't post degrading pics of my wife here, but I don't think she'd complain about reasonably modest pics (if she climbed) if I called her smokin' hot. But I don't think that 'validates' me at all, either way. I'm just happy that she hasn't let her self go... It doesn't make me any more of a big man or anything. | FLAG |

I still have pictures of you & friends in The Needles from a few years ago for you. Next time I'm @ RR or you get to AZ I'll get them to you. Sorry I have nothing to contribute about Italy. No need to be all touchy, feel-ie here Tony. Boulder has a way with Men over a period of time it seems. Why can't we just admit to being men, with man brains and enjoy pix of good looking women? Sheesh

| Given the amount of whining from MP men about their non-climbing wives and girl friends and the frequent advice that marrying will end a guy's climbing days, I find it refreshing to see these photos of climbing wives who are obviously really into it. | FLAG |
