Rocky topping out Mushroom Crack, V1, Governor Sta...

  • Governor Stable requires membership or a paid pass. The Circuit Area is currnetly closed to all climbing while access to the area is negotiated. Please respect the closed / no tresspassing signs posted near the pyramid. The rest of GS proper remains open to members and daypass holders. MORE INFO >>>
  • Areas on State Game Lands may face full hunting season closure starting in 2015 - please read and respond MORE INFO >>>

  • Description

Great problem at a very doable grade, if only this thing went for another hundred feet or so. Climb the cool crack on the west side of the Mushroom Crack Boulder, squeezing under the cap itself to top it out. Fun.

    Location

Between the McJump arete and Mushroom Cap, it's the obvious crack ascending the center of the face.

The meat wraps on the sidepull feature and kneebar that can be used on the same protrusion make this my favorite V1 at the Stable. Starting on double gastons is really unique and the optional juggy roof on the separate boulder above clinch the deal for me. Every beginner climber should attempt this climb.
