Hey everyone, my name is Tyler Meester, I'm moving to Mammoth Lakes from Arizona on January 2nd and I want to meet some people in the climbing community and get some climbing plans made! I'm 21 and basically don't know anyone out there, I'm super stoked on climbing though and will be free to climb on the 3rd and 4th (Saturday/Sunday) before I start work on the 5th. I'm interested in doing any type of climbing, in Arizona I've mainly been doing trad and trad multi-pitch stuff but I would be down to boulder or sport climb too. I want to get into ice climbing but having grown up in the desert I don't have any experience with that.

On sport I climb 5.12s and on trad I climb 5.11+/5.12-, I'm super eager to get stronger and would love to meet someone else who is motivated. I'm also really wanting to get on some alpine routes once the weather permits it.

What is the climbing gym situation like in Mammoth Lakes? Are there any garage walls or anything like that?

Also does anyone know if there is a Facebook group for climbers in this area?

Any help would be awesome! From climbing beta to tips on surviving snow storms, I'm from the desert so this is all new to me. If you want to shoot me a text or give me a call my phone number is (480) 747-1162. I'll be climbing in Red Rocks from the 27th to the 2nd.

Thank you so much! Super excited to get out there!

What's up Tyler? I have no contacts in Mammoth, but I have a few friends in Bishop & June Lake I could hook you up with. I'll send a text or PM or something with contact info.

Also I will probably be out there for a month or so this coming summer & would be psyched to climb some big, mega shit if you are still in the area.

There is a gym in mammoth. Several home set ups as well. I'm sure there's more than I know about.

If you don't have a vehicle that does well in the snow there's free public transportation that can get you around town.

Most beta would be much easier to give in person. Mainly because there is so much to do in this area.

Shoot me a message when you get to town. I should be able to point you in the right direction of some things.

Heya Mike! I would love any references you can give me in that area, Bishop is pretty close to Mammoth Lakes. And if the timing works out I would be super stoked to get on some big, mega shit with you. I have been itching to get on The Incredible Hulk but I'm down for anything really...
