Moving to China in April

Hello everyone,
Me and my Fiancée are moving to Guilin, China in April. We will be teaching English. Our plan is to have a decent amount of time free to travel and especially to climb, which is one of the reasons we chose the destination that we did. So here is what I am wondering, how is the climbing culture around Yangshuo and Guilin, and also if there were any MP'ers that lived or climbed in that area frequently that would be there around that time. Ironically enough I met an Australian guy this summer at the base of Serenity Crack that was telling me and my buddy all about the climbing scene in Yangshuo, but at that time I had no idea I would be moving there less than a year later! Also wondering if I should bring my trad rack, or if it will just be a waste of space. I'm currently planning on bringing it along in the hopes of travelling a little bit, but will I be able to put it to use in China?
Cheers!
Will

There's an American guy living in China who's found a sandstone crack climbing area that you'll probably want to visit. Online beta exists for this.

Rob's talking about Mike Dobie, and the place is Liming, in nearby Yunnan Province. Bring your rack!

Adventure climbing in Sichuan and new multipitch granite routes to be found in Xinjiang... guidebook for Keketuohai will be coming out soon.

Awesome suggestions guys! I had assumed that almost everything i'd be doing would be sport, and I haven't climbed much sport in a while, so i'm stoked to see there are some crack destinations!!

If you even get the opportunity, grab your trad rack and your newly-acquired Mandarin skills and head to Long Dong (snicker) on the NE coast of Taiwan (about 1 hour drive from Taipei). Absolutely epic seaside sandstone climbing. Loads of cracks.

If you are going to Yangshuo, stop by this hotel to see if you can meet some famous Chinese climbers. A lot of them would live there for short term visit to Yangshuo. (I never been there and only heard of it online).

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
