Moving back to SLC 4/1, weekend trip partners?

Hey all,

I'm moving back to SLC (sugarhouse) at the beginning of april, but I will not have a car.

I am however bringing my double rack, rope and assorted pile of camping & climbing gear. I would love to trade belays, gas money, beer/red bull to support the LDS crusher and cam lending (or any other medium of exchange) for rides to Indian Creek or Moab for the weekends in April. I can probly also get out after work midweek.

I have climbed a bit in the creek (and know some people in moab I can crash with if you don't want to camp out with a stranger) but am not a hardened creek master.

I can climb low 5.10 cracks in the East on gear, follow harder. Sport I lead 11- (follow 11+). I am experienced in trad and multi pitch climbing and anchor building and feel confidant about leading people less experienced than I am on such climbs depending on the grade of course. I do not mind approach hikes but enjoy spending more time climbing than approaching.

Although I want to get to the creek a lot in april, I'm psyched for all types of climbing: I am also up for Maple (been once), American fork (been a bunch of times), Joe's Valley (never been), City of Rocks (been a bunch of times) etc etc. There are also lots of SLC area climbs I wanna do, namely:

West Slabs
Sundial Peak
The Coffin
The Thumb
Sasquatch
Schoolroom
Arm & Hammer
sport climbing at hellgate, the millstone

to name a few. If any of these are on your tick list let's go do it!

Once the snow is gone
Devil's Castle (black streak)
Lone Peak stuff.

In SLC I have done:
Satan's corner
pentapitch
goodro's wall
gordon's hangover
tingey's
all the stuff at challenge (kinda sick of it)

Eric--I'm in SH as well. Always looking for climbing partners. Drop me a line when you get to town.

I'd be down. I live in millcreek. Always down to climb. Schedule the next few months could allow for weekend trips but likely the wasatch is going to be where we could climb most. PM me through here or I'll send you my contact info. I've got a ride, camping setup, creek worthy rack, and am a safe confident climber in the range you are looking and also looking to do/repeat some of the climbs you listed.

Thanks for the replies! I'm back in town now and itching to climb where conditions are good. I'll be at momentum tonight and there/the front some more this week if you wanna meet/greet before a full weekend trip.

Hi everyone,

I moved to SLC last May and am looking to get out a lot more this summer, plus I have every other Friday off.

Double rack, double rope, car, and willing to belay slave or lead 5.9ish trad, low 5.10ish sport.

Eric et al, I'd like to chime in.

Just moved to SLC as well, love to meet up with anyone and get out on the weekends and evenings. Have gear, safe climber, 10's-low 11's sport, relatively new (9's) to trad but have climbed some. Have shiny gear.

Nine70Four02Two9Two3. (is this actually like Craigslist where they buck your phone?)

Hugs,

Michael

Still searching myself. I'll belay anything, but only confidently able to follow 10's. My leading skills and confidence are at the low moderate level (I loathe falling). Crack climbing is still new to me as well. Just looking to get outside and enjoy it. Have a rack and rope, climb at momentum, car part of the time, really enjoy trad, like road trips and backpacking, so alpine climbing is something I'm interested in. PM me if interested in climbing. Also been eyeing the Exum Ridge on Grand Teton, City of Rocks, Lone Peak...

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
