I'm looking for a pair of mountaineering boots suitable for use with step-in crampons (grovel g12's). I will be doing mainly moderate water ice climbs. Budget is around $125. Any recommendations?

Hit the for sale forums and plead your case as ISO. You might end ip with a beat up pair, but you will be amazed at the kindness some will show.

I just did a post for ice axes and three amazing posters offered up the goods.

I really appreciate the offer, but I'm around a size 45.

Heh, I have a pair of Trango Ices (more or less the same as Trango Primes) in a 45 or 45.5. I'd be happy to part with them for $50. They're not very waterproof, but otherwise they're in good shape and climb well.

Let me know if you're interested via a PM.
