Model of a cam

I have a niche in my house that needed some art. Tried my hand at making ~5x model of a rigid friend out of wood (based loosely on the 2.5 in the corner of most photos). Would fit about 8-12" crack. Ended up about 30" long.

Learned a lot while making it: including how to pull my own springs.

Yes! It functions (although it only has a 5/8" wood dowel axel, so I wouldn't carry it up Steck-Salathe....) Has full range of motion and stops to prevent overcamming.
