C-Buttress

Description 

This buttress doesn't have a large amount of tree coverage so in the summer it is one of the warmer rocks to climb. On a plus side, there aren't as many mosquito's here as there are further to the south near the shadier formations. Directly to the north should be Domestic Pillar, but don't quote me on that. You can snag some good pictures by scrambling up part of Couch Potato (if that truly is Domestic Pillar to the north).

Getting There 

The easiest way to get here is to park in the north lot near Lower Mound Lake. Follow the trail east. It will bend south and the cliff face will be on the west side of the trail. The One Mile Trail loops back toward the parking lot just to the north of The Receding Ramparts. Trails from the main trail to the rock face are hard to come by, you may have to cross through the tall prairie grass. If you do look out for poison ivy and any sort of unknown critter that may lurk in the hip high grass.
