I just want to give a big THANKS! to Mr. Mike McHugh, humble Eldorado Canyon caretaker/trail-builder/bolt-replacer/steward and all around good guy.

Mr. Mike you're the man! So much of what you do is the result of your personal commitment to the park and visitors. Thank You!

Mike is definitely one of the unsung heroes of boulder climbing and public land management. Many sincere thanks to him (and the rest of the Eldo crew) for all the hard work they do. If you see him around, thank him and show up for a trail day. Cheers Mike, and Merry Christmas!!

Yep,
Mike is the man. Humble and cool. And can coral a bunch of rag tag fools and build some of the best trails in the country.

Thanks Mike,

See you out there this week.

Despite the enormous workload of Eldo, he still finds the time to come down to CWC and help with developing a climbing management program there. And assist with BCC efforts. Without giving a shit about personal notoriety. Cannot praise him enough!

Mike, when I was still teaching, I brought kids from the high school outdoor leadership club I was working with to Eldorado. You put us/them to work building trails, gathering up trash, pulling weeds, hauling gravel, and on and on. You actually found time to explain to us how trails are built and why. Thanks for always being there for Eldorado, and being such a great human being along the way.

I know a few ski bosses but Mike is hands down the best trail boss. Keep up the great work. Eldorado would not be the same with out you.

I haven't met him personally, but I've seen his photos of the park post-flood on the internet and read about his efforts in that regard. I also heard, again over the interwebs, that he has cleaned up climber feces on a number of occasions. Kudos to Mike, really appreciate your hard work and care for a place I enjoy.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
