Dryer Hose in 2005.


Description 

This is a super classic pillar of ice located between "The Curtains" and "The Ampitheater". If you want classic ice climbing in Munising, but aren't up for long approaches, this is the route for you.

The top access (up or down) for Dryer Hose is located around the corner to the west of the route.

If memory serves me the trail is by the third 35 MPH sign as one is walking West from the parking lot at the end of Sand Point Road by the beach...

The Dryer Hose at Ice Fest 2008. On a top rope, working my way from the backside, moving up the left most corner. Very picturesque. There's a nice overhang at the top that had formed, making it a nice little technical route.

This route is The Fang of the upper Midwest. A classic all the way. You can't call yourself a Midwestern ice climber (can you anyway?) without an ascent of this route.
