Coming up the first pitch of the namesake route of...

Description

With a number of single and double pitch routes, this crag has some very fine and popular routes for the visiting climber.

Nearly 60 meters high, several multi pitch routes provide a more airy feel and great views of the river and valley below. In a number of locations, the base of this cliff is a bit undercut and the first few moves will be quite steep. Hang in there!

Routes at the Liedekerke sector range from 3+ to 6c. This sector hosts more than 70 climbs. With popular moderates like the namesake route, La Liedekerke, as well as Calebard Étanche, The Dark Side of the Moon, Les Malaises, La Moule, L'Emporte-Pièce, etc, there are a number of fun routes to keep climbers busy and happy.

Descent: most routes can be rappelled back to the base. There’s also a couple of walk off options should the mood strike. There’s a well travelled trail atop the crag as well as the gully to the left of this sector available for a walk off/down climb.

Getting There

From the car park, take the trail to the side of the road and over the bridge. Through the gate to the left, then, pass the first trail which leads to Fanette and take either of the next couple of trails up through the woods.

Some of the route names are marked at the base and these can be used to orient oneself to the cliff. The more obvious groove of La Liederkerke makes a good reference point above the trees.

A fun, steep route on great holds. Highly featured face climbing, which, is good as the route starts out very steeply.Climb up steep face towards a steeper bulge. Jog left then back right. Climb just left of the buttress to a large ledge. Rappel back down from here, or, continue on easy slab to the top. Most folks rap off....[more]   Browse More Classics in International
