The largest and most diverse area at the Red Cliff Campground, the Main Wall has the most variety of grades and the most variety of funk. With good and bad rock, good and bad routes, the Main Cliff will be hit and miss, but mostly hit...

All bolted sport lines exist at the Main Cliff, the routes range from 5.8 to 5.10c. They are steep, short, long, and some a bit slabby. A majority of the lines here are short, however there are one or two long lines, with Pocket Protector being the tallest and possibly the best.

Getting There

Park at the Elkhorn trailhead, head right to a faint switchback up towards the largest wall with a cave in its center.

This climb follows just to the left of a large corner crack. The corner and crack allows for some stemming, liebacking, under-clings and other interesting moves. Of course feel free to stay out of the corner altogether if you like. Watch out for bat guano! This route can be TR'ed by following the trail to the south. The trail then wraps up and around to the north and accesses the top of the climbs....[more]   Browse More Classics in MT

Don't take the eroded crappy braid of trails straight up towards the cave, follow the elkhorn trail up river approximately 200 ft, then hang a left uphill into the woods, and shortly another left back towards the cliff. Way less eroded, way easier walking.
