Description Suggest change

[NOTE: In an organization/re-organization of the Camden Hills AREA the Maiden Cliff Area has been sub-divided into 3 "sub-areas": Frostbite Falls Area, Pete's Puzzle Area, and Blue Vein Area. This also conforms to the set-up of the present and (soon to be seen, we hope!) new guidebook.

Maiden Cliff is the large cliff on Rt 52 about 1/2 mile north of the Lake Megunticook / Barrett's Cove parking lot. Parking is an issue on the narrow road; best park back at the parking lot and walk the 1/2 mile.

...Located high above rock scree, there are several good during ice climbs. Some years are better than others. Most of the time you and your partner may be the only ones there. The approach is a bit steep and rocky, but once you get there, you can skirt along the cliff to each climb.

Getting There Suggest change

One mile north of Barret's Cove climbing area. Park in a pull-out on Rte 52. Folloow the rock scree up a stream bed.
