Description Suggest change

This is a cliff on the East China Sea coast between the popular Maeda point dive spot and the Renascence Hotel. The rock is mostly limestone with some coral and crystal pockets & streaks. Can be windy & the tide can be a factor. Many routes are slightly overhanging & seem to dry quickly. I climbed shortly after a morning shower with no problem. The approach is 4th class, so you might bring a rope to aid in decent and accent. Routes vary from 5.5 - 5.12.At the base, the trail splits in two.

Getting There Suggest change

From the traffic light at Kadena Circle on Hwy 58: drive north for 6.4 km, turn left on Hwy 6. Drive 3.2 km to the “T” intersection. Turn left and drive 0.8 km. Turn right and drive 0.4 km to the parking area (bring a few yen for parking). Walk left out of parking lot to the next sidewalk that goes away from the road. Follow sidewalk about 1/4 mile until you reach a small pavilion. Climb over concrete railing and down gully in the bottleneck in railing.

To access White Wall, Pre School Wall, and The Leaning Column, walk climbers’ left (Ocean over your left shoulder. The trail will continue through a short tunnel. White Wall is the first wall after the tunnel. Preschool Wall is under the column another 25 meter past White Wall.
To access Red Wall, Canton Wall, Overlook Wall, and Meada Cave, walk the base of the cliff to the climber’s right. (Ocean should be over your right shoulder)
