Description Suggest change

The lower caves wall is not a cave at all. It is a small brown crag located about half way up towards the upper caves. This wall sees little traffic, but is gaining in popularity as it boasts the easiest access to roped climbing in CB.

The rock is generally covered in a thin veneer of dirt and certainly has its share of loose rock. The hardware is slowly being upgraded and now each route has two bolts (with hangers!) at its top.

There is an interesting mix of anchor hardware at this crag. A gallery of homemade goodies!

If interested, one could do some great community service by adding some real anchor hangers to the tops of each of these climbs.

Getting There Suggest change

Hike up directly up scree and sage to the base of the wall OR hike up the main trail to the first major switchback. Leave the trail and contour right along the hillside passing a smaller brown chosspile on the way. An unpleasant 15 minutes either way you go.
