I found your shoe sz. 42 Testarossa at the base of Ken T'ank. If you want it, pay for me to ship it to you because I don't want to have to drive to Denver or anywhere near Denver to return your lost shoe. $5 to ship.

Why didn't you just leave the shoe at the crag if this is your attitude? Seems like you unnecessarily made things worse for the unfortunate person who left his/her shoe.

You're right- I did make the situation more difficult for whomever lost their shoe. I'm tired of seeing people "lose" their shit. I will gladly return the shoe upon my next visit to the Golden area if a meeting time and place can be worked out.

Most of the climbers I meet are doing their best. Makes me happier to get their back rather than bust their balls. YMMV

Edited to add-
Good job on KT! It's on my to do list also. Beautiful stone, really colorful. Wasn't too hot today?

I hear ya.

KT was great yesterday (I did it yesterday). A little warm but not too bad, the breeze helped quite a bit. I gave the crux crimps a good brushing and they felt fine in the heat. Go get it!

i don't think andy was out of line in his comment. if i lost one of my good shoes and somebody found it, i would be really happy to pay for shipping (plus some money for a 12 pack). not only does it cost a couple bucks to ship it, but he probably has to round up a box of some sort, head across town to the post office/ups/etc. kind of a pain in the ass.

$5 is actually a pretty good deal if somebody doesn't want to drive to Longmont to pick up the shoe. But if it were my shoe I'd prefer he'd have just left it tucked under a rock at the base and posted up about it. Guess there's a risk it might get stolen or eaten in that case, so no perfect solution. Other than never losing anything, but Locker is the only person that organized :-)
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
