I'm going to check out the Valle Azteca crag down in Baja this weekend. Leaving early Saturday and coming back early Monday.

I'll be staying in a Cabin about 20-25 minutes away. I'm leaving from the LA area so we could carpool or you can follow me down.

You'll need a passport. More than one person is welcome to tag along.

How is that place now? I was there about 10 years ago or more and the bolts/hangers were rusted then...hope they've been replaced since my visit.

PS watch out for all the poison oak - es muy fuerte amigo.

I looked it up and it was 13 years ago. Hopefully the TJ guys have replaced those manky bolts by now. If you need a look at a guide book let me know - I might be able to fire you off some beta.

..and not to throw more negativity your way - when I was there the word was that the local people that live just below the cliff band were breaking into cars, etc.

We DID NOT have any issues and it was a fun afternoon.

Last time I was there, I wanna say 5-6 years ago, there were some bolts that needed replacing. The locals have added a route or two, and bolts to routes as well, but hey, what the hell, it's their rock more than ours. I turned them onto the topos, they had no idea they exisited and were psyched. Never had a problem with break-ins, knock on wood. I had a friend that went down last year, didn't really talk about these issues.

Hey that is great news! - again my visit was many years ago. Stolked that people are getting into it. I'd like to go back someday. I miss Baja.
