|I've been climbing for a couple of years and I'm looking for someone to help me get into trad climbing. I lead sport climbing, and I've done a lot of top-roping at Taylors Falls, so I have some experience placing gear (albeit with two feet firmly on the ground). I've been obsessively reading instructional books for a long time and I have a good understanding of all the concepts involved, but I know all the books in the world are no substitute for practical experience on the rock with someone who knows what the hell they're doing.
I have a car, a MN State Parks pass, a couple of ropes and a fledgling rack. I'm willing to pay for gas, food and beer, and I have no problems with climbing in shitty conditions. I live and work in Minneapolis but am willing to drive a few hours. I have a day job, so most of my climbing will have to be on the weekends and evenings.
In case it hasn't already come across in this post, I am highly motivated (read: desperate?) to learn how to do this.
So whaddaya say? Anyone in MN/WI willing to help a dude learn how to plug gear?
