I climb at the Draw, Kellys, Glorias, the Pit and so on and so forth but Ive never been to the Lake Mary bouldering area and I would like to hit up the booze pig wall. I have some questions on directions. Is it accessible if you park at the pit and then walk east? or is that a retarded idea because it will take to long to walk there from the Pit? I read some diections to get out to the area and it said go past the Pit parking area on Lake Mary RD and go left. Im guessing theres a left hand turn up past the Pit and the draw? I just wanted some clarification before heading out. We all know climbers dont always give the best directions on MP or well, in general.
Booze Pig is a great way to get away from the crowds and the roofs of the draw. You wouldn't want to park at the Pit, a small basalt canyon blocks the way and it would be a hike, albeit a nice one. Just past the Lake Mary store on the left is an unmarked road, turn here and when it comes to a t turn rt and drive to the end of the road. You'll come to an old water tank. Skirt around the tank and head south. Keep an eye out for a big cave and Booze Pig will be just a bit further. From there continue wandering south for about 10 mins, keeping an eye out for the Unsung Wall, check the page for pics. (Breakfast in Hell still no second ascent) Also from the T if you turn left you can get to what JJ is calling the NPR wall etc... Have fun this area has some great climbing and is beautiful. Give me a holler if you have any questions.
Awesome, thank you very much. Im excited to check out the area. The rock looks amazing and looks like it will be a beautiful place to spend a few days climbing at.
