I am coming up to Georgia for some camping with my son in a State Park system. We are looking to do some Archery and do some climbing. I'm a climbing instructor and COPE Director at one of the scout camps. It's been years since I have done any outdoor climbing beyond set up and take down on the ropes course. We have been doing some climbing last year at the indoor gym a few times. I know Talluah Gorge may not be the best option. It would be nice to do some climbing myself but in case I cant' find anyone. Where is the best place go for climbing with a 11 year old and the nearest camping area?

Tallulah is an awesome place, but probably not the best choice if you haven't climbed outside for a long time. If you're looking for something in the north GA area, lots of groups go to Mt. Yonah.

There's lots of easy to moderate climbing and it's easy to set up top ropes on lots of the routes. You can either backpack in here to camp or there are campgrounds in the area.

currahee mountain is also a good option. easy to set up TR's and rappels.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
