I'm visiting Portland for a month and was hoping to get out and do some bouldering while I was here. I have some basic info from MP and other web sources on some of the nearby areas like Larch Mountain, Cascade Boulders and the Bridge Of The Gods but was hoping someone had a copy of the ebooks (pdf format preferred) listed on the Portland Rock Climbs website... portlandrockclimbs.com/eboo…
Can anybody help me out with these mini-guides/ebooks?
I have a copy of the Carver Bouldering Guide and the old guide to Portland and the Columbia River Gorge Bouldering, but wanted to check out Larch, Cascade and BOTG as well.
While those ebooks are listed on the website, they actually haven't been released yet as far as I know. They've been listed there for a while without a link. There is another bouldering book in the works, but it won't be out for a bit yet either. So for now, the best you can do is MP, or find locals to go with you. There is two pages of maps for Larch and Cascade in the NW OR Climbing book, and they could help. The MP for Larch, Cascade, Hamilton Mountain, Upper Kueffluer rd boulders, and Bridge of the Gods boulders can get you to the boulders, and then you pretty much have to explore around the area and follow trails. Good GPS coordinates have been placed on MP for Larch, Cascade and Upper Kueffler boulders, and the lower Hamilton Mountain area, so that can help.
