Hey All,

I'm moving to Bangalore in August and am excited to explore the local rock scene. Does anyone have any experience climbing in this area? Is it easy to find partners? What are the best resources to learn more about the area? Is it mainly sport/trad/bouldering?

If anyone lives nearby or will be passing through give me a shout if you want to climb together. I'm a safe climber that prefers trad, sport, bouldering in that order.

Cheers!

Hi Joe,

Bangalore has a mix of Sport, Trad, and Bouldering.

Personally, I prefer Trad, Sport and Bouldering, in that order, but quite frankly, my time is spent largely bouldering, then sport and very little trad (probably about 8-10 days in a year of the last).

Check out the above group.

Thanks,
Sohan

Hey Joe,

If you're still in the area, I'm headed to Bangalore for a few weeks on Monday (Sept 28). I'm game for any type of climbing (besides ice, but that's not much of a risk in S. India). Unfortunately, I'm living out of a backpack for a year and am carrying no climbing gear. If I can figure out a way to get gear, I'd be a more than willing weekend partner.

Hope you're doing well and enjoying S. India!

Peace,
aaron
