looking for partners in November

Hi,

i am a 28y old guy from Germany visiting the US for the first three weeks of November. I would love to go out climbing on the weekends but i will be there alone. So i am looking for someone who would be willing to introduce me to the Gunks. I will be staying in Stirling NJ.
I have never climbed in the US. Using a translation table i should be able to second something like 5.11b, and trad lead 5.10c.
Early November might be a little cold already, i do not mind low temperatures as long as its dry enough to climb.
Also i would be interested in climbing in a gym in case the weather does not allow the real thing. I guess NYC has really good gyms.

I am looking forward to getting replies. Also email me directly

enthusiastic PM sent! I'm actually thinking of moving to germany after i finish college and would love to pick your brain about some of the climbing there. you're climbing at a level a bit harder than i am but there are still plenty of great routes we would both be able to climb at the gunks!

I live in between NYC and the gunks, I am up there most weekends to boulder and climb routes. I would be more than happy to climb with you. I am also currently studying German and just returned from an alpine school in austria

Hey guys, thanks a lot for your fast replies. I am not quite as fast but there is still time before my visit.
Since my time in the area is limited i would like to get in touch with as many people as possible. So if more people are interested in going to the Gunks in November, do not hesitate to reply in this thread.

We could all go together and a group of 4 or more people would be really nice. I think the second weekend should be a long we since the 11th seems to be a holiday. This should give enough time for a good trip, lets just hope we get good weather.

So much for trying to attract more people.

T.L. Kushner and dimeom what do you guys think about my idea of trying to organize a trip with several people? That would be ideal but in case we do not get a big crowd i would also love to go with the two of you or maybe just one. Let's just wait and see about the weather and whether we can make it.

For gear i thought i would bring not much more than a harnest, shoes etc. Meaning the partner would have to bring the rack, rope ..
Would one go camping there? I could bring a sleepingbag and a mat but would not like to bring my tent.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
