Hey all,

Im considering moving to OKC from Las Vegas,NV but Im concerned about the availability of climbing, canyoneering, backpacking etc. I noticed some decent stuff in the Witchitas, but wonder how it compares to Red Rock, NV and Zion.

Looking for input on the availability of "outdoorsy" activities in the OKC area. What do outdoor enthusiasts do for thrills in OKC? Also, I saw there is a climbing gym in the area, any reviews?

Thanks a lot, good and bad info is appreciated!

There is drinking beer, hunting, and fishing. That is about the extent "outdoorsy" activities in O KKK lahoma. I spend at least 2 or 3 weeks a year there. My suggestion is don't move!

Depending on what you’re into the Wichita’s offer a ton for trad and some sport routes as well. As for outdoorsy things there isn’t much to offer in OKC except for kayaking and bike trails. The gym is called Rock town and I feel they do a good job of changing routes not to mention it’s in an old grain silo so there are some 90 ft routes as well as a multipitch sport route that is opening soon. If you have to come it’s not so bad but if you have the choice stay out west.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
